We had a wonderful weekend “get away”…. very relaxing!!!!

My husband surprised me with this little get-a-way while our daughter was on a trip to Washington D.C.  It was so nice to take a couple of days off in the middle of the week.  We both needed the peace and quiet, and relaxing atmosphere.  The fireplace kept us warm and cozy and the setting couldn’t be more beautiful.  What a lovely place you have!  We sat for hours talking and looking at the river after the overnight rain.  We are so thankful we could be here.  Our only disappointment was when we found out the Smith House closed at 3:00 and we couldn’t eat there for dinner and other stores in downtown Dahlonega open randomly.

Enjoyed our sis-in-laws get-away at your little Mt. Home! Though the hail was a little unnerving – it also made it exciting – funny – and memorable ! We all three relished the view and tranqulity of the sun porch.  It definitely made a difference in our conversations – which allowed each of us to share some very deep feelings.

We hope to do this again and build on this trip’s discoveries!

So we checked in around 7:45pm and the key was just where it was supposed to be.  Tomorrow March 19th marks 34 years together.  We came up here to try and recapture the passion we have some how come to lose.  I could not have asked for a better retreat.  We have been able to talk and piece things together again and the leave the dull work life behind.  I think maybe we are on a new road to life togther.  The river just keeps me in a trance, I woke at 6:30 am and could here it calling me, so with coffee in hand I went down for a visit.  Thanks for a wonderful weekend.  I know we will be back.

We had a wonderful time staying at the cabin! Despite have to spend part of our time grading papers, the Dawgs losing to USC, we enjoyed it immensely.  It’s not exactly a cabin, and it’s not exactly on a peaceful river, but noext time you’re in the Franklin Springs/Royston Twin Cities area, I know a place where we might just be able to board you for a night or two.

Back Again!

Have been coming here for years.  Feels like home..Celebrated my 52nd birthday until Connie went to the Falcon’s Game. They. Won.  I could love in this cabin, wonderful peaceful atmosphere.  My mothers & family love it also.  My brother Hohn & Julie love it also they have come a number of years.  They are coming back Thanksgiving.

Thanks for allowing our group to share your “retreat”.   We had such a special time here, and in fact, have plans to return the end of this month, if the Lord allows.
